SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas. – Get ready for an enchanting encounter with nature as HalloWings Across South Padre Island returns on Sunday, October 27, 2024. This free, family-friendly celebration will honor the remarkable migration of monarch butterflies, offering a day packed with educational activities and entertainment for nature lovers of all ages.
“We’re excited to invite the community to this special event, where they can enjoy hands-on learning and appreciate the beauty of South Padre Island’s natural environment,” said Blake Henry, Visit South Padre Island Executive Director.
As they journey across Texas toward their wintering grounds in Mexico, the annual migration of monarchs is a breathtaking natural phenomenon that South Padre Island is proud to witness and celebrate. This year’s event will take place from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., and it’s designed to engage the community in learning about the importance of this species while also enjoying a variety of interactive experiences. There will be live entertainment and special presentations, as well as a costume contest, nature walks, monarch arts & crafts, face painting, games, and so much more! Hallowings Across South Padre Island promises to be a festive occasion, combining fun, education, and the natural beauty of the island’s coast. This event is free and open to the public.
